SUBJECT: Resignation as Union President Effective 1/5/04
Central Region Bargaining Unit:
I resign effective January 5, 2004 as President of AFGE Local 3529. I want to spend more time with my family and reduce stress by simplifying my life. As part of this job, I have traveled extensively in the last few months. I want to reduce this to a minimum by going back to full time audit work. I will remain as a Steward but will not be taking more of a load than any other Steward in my office. I plan on taking off most of the rest of the year.
Tony McElroy, current Executive Vice President, will take over as President. I will have to tie up some loose ends and send him files etc. in my remaining five or so work days.
